I spent 2 1/2 years in Iraq from 2004 to 2007 and this book simply doesn't accurately capture the experience. In truth, it's more like John Baluchi's Animal House than what it was to be an actual security contractor in Iraq. I understand that everyone's experience may be different, but the author spends more time talking about bodily functions and being drunk than about what it was like to be there as a security contractor. I worked with several different companies and we worked with Blackwater both in Iraq and later in Afghanistan, and his description of the people does a disservice to them all.
